Insights
The Monday export you shouldn’t need
Most shop owners still start the day in a spreadsheet: last night’s close, a handwritten bay list, a text from the advisor about who is waiting on parts. None of that is a lie — it’s just slow. By the time the export opens, the first appointment is already at the counter.
Live Operations Daily Snapshot is the morning view that already lives on Pro. It is not a weekly accounting pack and it is not a BI suite. It answers three questions the owner actually asks while coffee is still hot: how many repair orders are open, what is in work today, and what has been collected. Then it points at the same job board and the same ROs the floor is already using.
That is the whole point. Snapshot is ops in motion, not a second system you reconcile at 7 p.m.
If you have ever printed a “what’s open” list because the shop software buried it under reports, this page is for you. If you have ever waited until Friday to find out how the week felt in cash, this page is for you. ShopRally puts the live numbers on Pro so the owner does not have to earn them with an export.
Walkthrough
Open the day
1
Open Snapshot
Not a buried Reports folder. Three tiles large enough to read from the doorway.
2
See the floor
Tied to ROs, appointments, and activity — not extra KPI tiles.
3
Money in motion
Collected next to open work. Balance due lives on the RO, not a fourth tile.
4
Same system
Points at the job board and the repair orders already in motion.

Posted work later
Shop reports for Monday numbers. Advanced reporting stays Soon.
1. Open Snapshot, not a buried report. You do not hunt a Reports folder to start the day. Live Ops Snapshot is the morning surface: today’s picture of the shop, on every plan. Open ROs, WIP today, and collected totals sit large enough to read from the office doorway.
2. See what’s on the floor — including today’s and upcoming work. The snapshot is not a static scoreboard. It is tied to the repair orders, appointments, and activity already on the shop: cars that are here, cars that are coming, work that is still open. You scan the same day the advisors and techs are living. Appointments and activity belong in this walk — they are how you read the day — they are not extra tiles we invented for the landing.
3. See money in motion. Collected is on the strip because owners ask “what came in” before they ask for a P&L. Open work sits next to it so you can tell the difference between a busy board and a paid board. What’s owed — paid-to-date and balance due on the RO — is real Pro payment tracking. It lives on the repair order and on the payments page. We will not fake a fourth Snapshot tile for balance due until the product shows it on Snapshot. The morning story still includes it: after you read collected, you move into the ROs that still have a remainder — same system, not a separate report.
4. Points into the same ROs the floor uses. A tile is useless if it dumps you into a shadow spreadsheet. Snapshot points at the job board and the repair orders already in motion — the same system, not a separate deep-link product. Find the open RO because a customer is waiting. Find the WIP card because a tech is blocked. The numbers and the floor are one system.
5. When you need posted work, go to Shop reports. Snapshot is the live morning. Shop reports are the core posted work and sales numbers owners already ask for on Monday — still on Pro, still not a custom BI builder. If you want a deeper cut later, that is Advanced reporting, and it is Soon. We will not preview a dashboard we do not ship.
Owner moves
Decisions this unlocks
Three owner moves. No fake analytics.
Prioritize the bays. Open ROs plus WIP today is enough to ask: are we loaded, or are we pretending to be loaded? If WIP is thin and open ROs are stacked, the bottleneck is not “we need more cars” — it is getting work into a bay. If WIP is high and collected is quiet, the bottleneck may be parts, approvals, or cars sitting finished. Snapshot does not diagnose the shop for you. It puts the counts where you can see them, then drops you onto the board.
Chase what’s owed. Collected on the strip is “what came in.” Balance due is “what is still sitting on an RO.” That second number is Pro payment tracking: paid-to-date and remainder on the same ticket the counter is closing — not a mystery leftover in a cash drawer. Use it in the morning pass: which tickets are done but not collected? Deep Stripe checkout and text-to-pay are Elite; they belong on the payments page, not as a Snapshot promise.
Spot stalled WIP. WIP today is a count, not a Gantt chart. Combined with pointing into the same board, it is how you find the job that has not moved since yesterday. You do not need a custom cohort report to walk the board. You need the count, then the card.
These are owner actions, not “insights products.” If a landing starts promising heatmaps, technician scorecards, or year-over-year tiles we do not ship, it has left Snapshot and started selling Advanced reporting. We will not do that here.
Honesty
What this is / isn’t
What you get on Pro
- Live Ops Snapshot: open ROs, WIP today, collected.
- Points into the same job board and repair orders.
- Core Shop reports — not a second operating system.
- Payment tracking on the RO: paid-to-date and balance due.
What this is not
- Not a custom dashboard builder.
- Not Advanced reporting. Soon
- Not QuickBooks. QBO CSV export is Elite (Ultra inherits).
- Not Elite Stripe or text-to-pay.
The honesty is the product. Prospects comparing ShopRally to a “reporting suite” should leave this page knowing exactly what ships on Pro and what we are not pretending to sell.
